This Thursday, September 30, is the National Day For Truth & Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day.  This day serves as a reminder to take the time to deepen our understanding of the residential school system and the lasting impact that it has had on the lives of Survivors, families, communities, and Nations. 

 

There are many in-person and virtual events, not to mention free educational resources. Here is a list of just a few! 

 

Remember Me - An Annual Day of Remembrance

This national gathering to remember Indigenous children and families affected by the Indian residential schools and all Indigenous child apprehension programs will take place in Ottawa at Parliament Hill. The event will also be livestreamed.

Film Trailer: For Love 

For Love, a new documentary narrated by Shania Twain, is set to debut on September 30 in a private ceremony at the Vancouver Convention Centre. For Love chronicles Indigenous children in Canada's foster care system and was made with the participation of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples.
